Shires Match Result - Oxfordshire v. Worcestershire October 2013 |
|
![]() |
The U13 Shires team recorded a second straight win today, this time 20-0 against Worcestershire, with only one set dropped. It was an overall impressive performance showing the team benefiting from regular partnerships, improving levels of concentration during matches and a good depth of squad. Worcestershire did participate in some good badminton, so it was a better challenge than the score suggested, but our team’s experience came through on all occasions. Thanks to Lee and James for attending the match. Match report : Pramod Gujral |
U13 Intercounty Match - Oxfordshire v. Warwickshire - October 2013 |
|
Yesterday the we took 5 boys and 5 girls to make up an U13 Intercounties team to play Warwickshire in Coventry, Traditionally Warwickshire a strong county and this match was no different with some quality players on duty for them. For some on our team it was their first experience of an official county match and despite that nobody seemed to be effected by too many nerves and seemed to enjoy themselves. U13 Shires Match - Oxfordshire v. Middlesex - September 2013 |

The U13 Shires matches kicked off with a 17-3 win against Middlesex. A great start for this year’s campaign. It was fair to say that our girls were a ‘little stronger’ than Middlesex’s with the girls delivering 10 out 10 on rubbers they were involved in. We had two ‘matches of the day’. Ethan and Safia rallied to beat Jack and Gunjan 21-16, 18-21, 21-18 after the match seemed to be slipping from them in the second set. Jamie Redfern, playing an opponent twice his size, managed to get the second set playing some great shots before going down 15-21, 21-15, 10-21. A good motivational match where players are getting used to their partners, so we are all set to face Worcester in 2 weeks and hopefully sit on the top of the Shires league for a while.
